Other "Pet Food" Companies: Contracting With Killers
TASER International
TASER International manufactures weapons that use electricity to temporarily
disable a “target.” With the assistance of Wayne C. McDaniel,
a “researcher” at the University of Missouri-Columbia,
TASER tested its products on animals at the laboratory in question.
On December 11, 2002, TASER cruelly and illegally tested one of its
weapons on a fully conscious cow. According to one witness, the cow
was repeatedly shocked and knocked to the ground until she was no longer
able to stand up. In defending this incident, as well as its use of
animals in the development of its weapons, TASER implied that, until
now, there has not been a “viable option to safely subdue and
control animals without injury.” In reality, animal-control and
law-enforcement officers use a variety of nonlethal methods to subdue
dogs and livestock, including rope, catchpoles, and chemical agents.
Even if TASER’s claims were true, there is no excuse for the
company’s cruel and unnecessary experiments on animals.
Please ask TASER International to stop experimenting on animals:
