hair loss and a mammary tumour. Forty-two days later, having
received no veterinary treatment, the dog is finally killed.

the flooring of her cage. An animal care technician has
to use a steel bar to pry the slats of the cage floor apart
to free the dog’s legs.

Scene #11: Menu Foods dog (H)8J483, injured by
getting caught in the flooring of her cage, is placed in
a carrier.

Scene #12: Her wounds shaved and washed, (H)8J483
is placed back in her cage. (H)8J483 received no painkillers.

Scene #13: This is a closeup of (H)8J483’s
wounds one day after she was found in her cage. What appear
to be stitches are in fact the jagged edges of her torn
flesh. The dog received no painkillers.

Scene #14: Still in pain six days later, (H)8J483
gingerly sits on the metal flooring of her cage. Later
this same day, she is killed.
